The Voice of Young Science (VoYS) is a unique, dynamic network of early career researchers (ECRs) in the UK and Europe who are committed to playing an active role in public discussions about science and evidence. VoYS is built on an ethos of researchers taking responsibility for the quality of public discourse, which is supported by our partners.

VoYS members advise and support each other on the challenges researchers tackle all over the world. Successful campaigns have included myth-busting detox diets and persuading the WHO to issue a public statement clarifying its position against the use of homeopathy for the treatment of HIV, malaria and TB. We support the network’s projects with publications and workshops.

We offer unique, interactive workshops, equipping ECRs with the confidence and know-how to engage with the media, the public and policymakers, and to get started in peer review. Workshops emphasise practical learning, drawn from the real experiences of other VoYS members and Sense about Science, which ECRs can take back to their institutions and communities and use in their own lives.
